The Secret Exhibitions project deals primarily with the theme of censorship and because of this takes place exclusively in private apartments in Zagreb, Munich and Maastricht. This particular action centered around a fax machine receiving faxes by invited participants who were asked to respond to quotations related to the "image". Took place on Jan. 28th, 2010 from 5.30 - 8.30pm, Croatian time.
My contribution to the project was a 7-page fax of blacked-out pages filled with a complex grid pattern as to require the longest possible output time. The inten- tion was for the fax transmission to take a long time to print, and by doing so, it would jam the line and (hopefully) block other faxes from coming through, thus (at least temporarily) censoring other participants.
It seems to have worked.
