Kinder malen Kino

2014

A series of four posters commissioned by Kino Krokodil for a program introducing children to film production. We produced several sequences for children to use as models and trace directly onto blank film. The children were then able to see their drawings projected onto the screen in the movie theater.

We designed simple pictorial images that would appeal to children aged 4 to 10: faces, plants, animals, cars, boats and the word “Kino”, German for “film”. 12 mini stories were laid out; each divided into 24 stills for one second of motion.

This program introduces children to analog technology and demonstrates how a moving image is made from a succession of still images.
